Meet the Spalding Team!
Our story is like that of many other families searching for the American Dream and a better future for our family. Our Southwest Florida dream started in 1977 when we traveled here for a beach vacation in October. That feeling of sinking our toes in the sand for the first time was such an awesome experience that we knew right then and there we wanted to make this our new home and keep that feeling with us forever!
We traveled back to Mt. Washington, Kentucky and sold our Florist business of five years in order to return to the beach in February of 1978. We started like so many others juggling everything and not really knowing what tomorrow would bring but we had faith and we were not afraid of hard work.
We opened up our flower shop on Fort Myers Beach – “Beach Flowers” and started cleaning carpets on the side. Then in 1980 with the encouragement of our dear friends, who were more like family to us, and a small loan, we started Spalding Carpet Cleaners.
Ours is a true family business – working together with our two sons, who have now blessed us with four grandchildren, we began serving the area with carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning, ceramic tile and grout cleaning and water extraction services. The business was first established to serve year round residents, part-time residents and rental real estate companies and we’ve recently expanded our service area to cover more of the Southwest Florida area beyond Fort Myers Beach. We recently brought in our son William as part owner to help us continue to develop the company, expand our service area and take things to the next level in our marketing department. Over the years many of our customers have become dear friends and they feel just like family to us. That’s what our company is all about – taking care of family and today we invite you to become part of our growing family- the Spalding family!
